Today started like a normal day. Up at 6, breakfast and train ride to the office by 8. We reported on the two issues Stefan and I handled the day before, along with some other incidents that occurred over the weekend. After lunch things turned crazy.
Mike arrived in Pittsburgh around 7am like normal, but he was unable to access the wireless. That happens occasionally, so it was not a reason to panic, but then he plugged in an Ethernet cable and still couldn't connect. That started to concern us. The more we dug into the problem the bigger it got. By 2:30pm Germany time I had notified the Manager on Duty, a handful of other managers and teams and sent a company wide notification of the serious issue.
I left the office on time, but then booted up when I got back to the hotel to continue to assist. I ran out for a quick dinner and ended up heading to bed around midnight. I told both Stefan and Mike to call me if either of them needed help overnight.
